Corporate & macro desk
What moved the tape and what the IR desks were announcing
- Crude is the whole story — Brent jumped about 4% to roughly $108.50 a barrel after Washington rejected Tehran's latest proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, reviving current-account and inflation worries for a net oil importer. Every NSE sectoral index closed lower.
- Zydus Lifesciences hits a 52-week high — The stock rose about 2% to Rs 1,228.25 after a USFDA inspection of pharmacovigilance and post-marketing surveillance systems at its New Jersey office, conducted 22-25 September, closed with nil observations.
- PC Jeweller says it is debt-free — The company reported repaying all outstanding obligations to its 14-bank consortium ahead of schedule. The stock gained about 4% on the day in an otherwise falling market.
- Signatureglobal adds 194 acres in Gurugram — The developer acquired roughly 194.22 acres at Farrukhnagar, adding about 6.77 million sq ft of developable area with an estimated gross development value of Rs 5,500-6,000 crore.
- Aequs approves a Rs 650 crore warrant issue — The board cleared a preferential issue of 2.8 crore warrants to promoter-group entity Mellwood Trustee Services. Separately, Wheels India allotted 11.97 lakh shares at Rs 2,088 under a QIP taken up by Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC and SBI Mutual Fund.
- Prestige subsidiary withdraws its DRHP — Prestige Hospitality Ventures pulled its draft red herring prospectus, citing strategic considerations and uncertain market conditions — a reminder of how quickly the issuance window can narrow.
- SAIL signs an MoU with Bharat Coking Coal — The two state-owned companies will jointly develop and operate two coal blocks in West Bengal. Adani Power completed the merger of ten wholly-owned subsidiaries, effective 25 September, following NCLT Ahmedabad approval.
- Unichem's Goa plant draws five observations — A USFDA inspection at the Goa facility from 21-26 September closed with five procedural observations. IndusInd Bank set up a dedicated banking vertical for Global Capability Centres, and LG Electronics India flagged a 5-7% air-conditioner price increase from 1 October.

Grey market premium (GMP) is an unofficial, unregulated and unverifiable indication quoted by private dealers. It is not an exchange price, it carries no settlement guarantee, and it moves through the bidding window — treat it as sentiment, not valuation. GMP percentages here are computed against the upper end of each official price band. Blank cells mean the figure could not be sourced for this session, not zero; lot sizes, basis-of-allotment and listing dates were not available from the sources reached this morning, and subscription multiples are partial because they were captured mid-session. Green Asia Impex, Peshwa Wheat, Dudani Retail, Himalayan Solar and Sai Urja Indo Ventures were also open during the session but carried no GMP quote. Issues due to open next include Nityas Gems Jewellery and Vishal Nirmiti on the mainboard, with Papadmalji Agro Foods and Eventions on NSE SME.

Bullion rates are Mumbai retail reference quotes and vary materially by city and jeweller. Brent is the front-month contract at the US close. The US indices show the Monday 28 September session, which closed after the Indian market.
What we are watching next session
- Whether crude holds above $105. The entire session was an energy-price story, and oil-linked input-cost commentary is about to become the most-asked question on Q2 calls for auto, paints, chemicals, cement and logistics issuers.
- The rupee at 96.03 after a 28-paise fall. Issuers with dollar debt, import-heavy bills of material or unhedged foreign-currency exposure should expect the question, and should have the hedge position ready rather than assembled on the call.
- Five IPOs close on 29 September — AceVector, German Green Steel and Power, Orient Cables (India), Runwal Enterprises and Bench Mark Infotech Services. Subscription was still thin on several of them at midday, and Prestige Hospitality's DRHP withdrawal is a live reminder that the window can shut quickly.
- DIIs bought Rs 5,189 crore against Rs 5,353 crore of FII selling — a near-complete domestic offset. Whether that absorption holds through a sustained oil shock is the flows question for the week.
- The Q2 results calendar opens on 8 October with TCS and GM Breweries, then HCL Technologies on 12 October. Board-meeting intimations, results dates and any pre-announcement silent-period policy should be out well before then.
- Ex-dates on 30 September and 1 October for SAIL, Saraswati Saree Depot, Indraprastha Gas, R Systems and Natco Pharma's 2:21 rights issue.
