Corporate & macro desk

What moved the tape and what the IR desks were announcing

  • Fed's rate rise digested, Wall Street rebounds — The first Indian session after the US Federal Reserve's quarter-point increase — its first in three years — passed without disruption. Overnight, falling oil prices and easing bond-market pressure helped Wall Street reverse most of the prior day's fall.
  • Emami approves Rs 282 crore buyback — The board cleared an open-market buyback of up to Rs 282 crore at a maximum of Rs 475 per share, covering up to 59,36,842 shares or about 1.36% of paid-up equity. Promoters are excluded. The stock closed 5.05% higher at Rs 388.10.
  • Tata group counters advance up to 5% — Most Tata group shares rose during the session. Reports pointed both to the board's approval of a five-year extension for N Chandrasekaran as executive chairman and to the RBI's handling of Tata Sons' NBFC de-registration application.
  • Bharat Forge launches roughly Rs 2,000 crore QIP — The qualified institutional placement opened with a floor price of Rs 1,947.70 per share and a permitted discount of up to 5% on that floor.
  • Federal Bank clears $500 million MTN programme — The board approved the establishment of a medium-term note programme of up to $500 million, one of several fund-raising items before boards this week.
  • Bharat Electronics adds Rs 648 crore of orders — BEL reported additional orders worth Rs 648 crore secured since 26 August, spanning laser-based IR jammers, communication equipment, cybersecurity solutions, thermal imagers, TR modules and services.
  • Petronet LNG forms compressed biogas joint venture — A 50:50 joint venture with Gruner Renewable Energy will build ten compressed biogas plants of 18 tonnes per day each, at an estimated capital outlay of Rs 1,200 crore.

Grey market premium is an unofficial, unregulated and unverifiable indication of sentiment traded outside the exchanges. It is not a price, not a forecast, and carries no regulatory standing — it is published here for context only. A blank cell means the figure was not sourced this morning, not that it is zero; price bands, lot sizes, allotment and listing dates were only available for some issues and the rest are left blank rather than estimated. GMP figures are taken in full from a single tracker to avoid blending inconsistent quotes. Upcoming issues not open during the session — Axiom Gas Engineering, Robokidz Eduventures, Vivekanand Cotspin, FX Multitech, Himalaya Nutravedics, S.K. Offset and A-One Steels — are not listed above.
